KEEGAN + HARRY | Millbrook Winery Wedding

Keegan + Harry met at the beginning of high school and were good friends up until the beginning of year twelve when they went to their school ball together and won the ‘cutest couple’ award. A week later Harry asked Keegan to be his girlfriend.

The proposal:
We had been dating for four and a half years and were on a family trip to New Zealand in September of 2017. We had just arrived at the hotel in Queenstown after conquering his biggest fear (bungee jumping!) we got into our bath robes and headed out to the balcony. I walked out first and was looking towards the Remarkables Mountain range when I turned around to make sure he could see them as well. When I turned around, he was down on one knee with the engagement ring of my dreams. I said no because I couldn’t believe it but then I said yes.

Keegan and Harry chose Saturday March 16th, two days after their sixth year anniversary + decided on Millbrook Winery because they love Jarrahdale, one of the most beautiful wineries in Perth.

“Millbrook is so beautiful, we decided not have a theme, the decorations were

minimal, and we let the backdrop of the land be our feature. We had blue Scottish Thistles and burgundy dahlias, pink scabiosas as well as shiraz coloured carnations and baby’s breath in the bouquets with silver gum leaves. The table centres had the blue Scottish Thistles with baby’s breath.” Keegan tells.

We had disposable cameras on every table so that people could take their own pictures and we would have copies of them. That was my favourite and I can’t wait to get the pictures back. The venue was the best decision because it required little decoration and we had the option of three different locations depending on the weather that could be changed even on the day, meaning that if it rained or was 40 degrees we could have it under a huge stone hallway which provided shelter.” Keegan shares. They opted for out in the sun on the grass in front of the lake and the weather was perfect.

“The worst decision was that I was so tired, I wished I had napped before I had my hair and makeup done!” Keegan laughs.

I have recommended Zolotas Bridal to everyone I know, even those who aren’t getting married, they both made me feel so comfortable and I was always excited when I knew I was coming up, not only about the dresses but I just enjoyed the process.

Moment you will never forget:
How natural it was. I wasn’t nervous in the slightest because I knew in my heart, I had made the right decision. I loved every moment and I hope I never forget any of it.

Advice:
Don’t sweat the small stuff because chances are you aren’t going to notice it anyway...

and if you do, you won’t care a single bit on the day.

Tell us about your wedding dress! What was it that made you choose it?
My mum and my sister’s face when I put it on. It was the Rhea dress from the 2018 collection. It was beautiful and I was told many times on the day that it was the most beautiful wedding dress that anyone had ever seen. I felt truly beautiful and it was so unique and comfortable. It was the most perfect dress!

How would you describe your Atelier Zolotas experience?
So smooth, I have recommended Zolotas Australia to everyone I know, even those who aren’t getting married, they both made me feel so comfortable and I was always excited when I knew I was coming up, not only about the dresses but I just enjoyed the process.
